blueberry scones

this one goes out to someone who continuously asked, “can you make them flakier please?”

  • 1 cup cold whole milk (… which is 3.5% NOT 10% like an idiot)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups AP flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cups cold unsalted butter
  • however many blueberries are left after snacking
  • Flaky sea salt (for sprinkling)
  1. whisk together whole milk, sugar and salt … it doesn’t dissolve so basically this step is just for fun
  2. in a separate bowl, mix together flour and bp
  3. cut in just over a half cup COLD or frozen butter into the mixture… have the butter in small ish bits but not too small bc thats where they get the ever requested flakiness from
  4. mix together wet and dry … roll out the dough into rectangular shape that essentially the size of your cutting board
  5. semi melt a couple more teaspoons of butter and lather that baby up on the dough … will probably need to use your fingers for this part… would not recommend this w long nails
  6. plop some of the blueberries on there
  7. fold into middle … then sideways
  8. give em a lil milk on top for fun
  9. chop chop
  10. over for 25ish minutes @ 350
