Cinnamon Rolls

step 1 of making the most of a birthday during quarantine

step 2 is having the best people.

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ½ cup + 1 tbs granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 tbs active dry yeast
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 6 tbs butter melted
  • vanilla extract
  • 4 to 4.5 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • cinnamon

Filling:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 spoon fulls of cinnamon
  • 6 tbs butter softened

Instructions:

  • let yeast activate for approx. 10 minutes in warm milk in bowl … mix in 1tbs sugar following
  • once activated, add in eggs, melted butter, and vanilla
  • continue to fold in flour … start w 4 cups and add more 1tbs at a time as needed
  • next, add in sugar, salt, cinnamon
  • sit aside and rise for approx. 1 hour or until doubled in size
  • to make filling, mix together softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon until incorporated fully
  • once dough has rose, use rolling pin (or vodka bottle bc you don’t have a rolling pin) to create a rectangle w the dough
  • evenly spread filling over the dough
  • roll tightly length wise
  • use knife to mark where you’ll cut BEFORE you actually cut them because apparently i’m incapable of eyeballing
  • cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in fridge over night so you can still go to your mans place and not get shit from your housemates !!
  • make icing however ??

cook at 350 for 45ish minutes
