Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

went for a 5K today – and proceeded to bake cookies. this is what balance looks like.

ingredients:

yeild – 3 dozen ish

  • 1 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • .5 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1.5 cup old fashioned oats (not instant)
  • 1.5tsp baking soda
  • salt (depending on whether or not butter is already salted)
  • about half a bar of bakers semi sweet chocolate chopped up
  • a decent amount of cinnamon

TIPS:

  • could not find the electric mixer today SO we used a whisk when mixing the butter with the sugar and honestly… turned out pretty solid still. so do as you please. or consider it an arm workout idc.
  • melt the butter and mix with the sugar — THEN once everything is combined, put the cookie dough in the fridge for 15ish minutes – WAY easier to handle / shape the cookie size than it its room temperature and sticky.
  • for future reference… almond extract in chocolate chip cookies is my 10/10 secret baking tip… this was not used today because we’re being socially responsible and not going to metro specifically for almond extract.
