no yeast because i think quarantine has everyone thinking the same and it was sold out and/or i could not see the remaining yeast left on the top shelf…
also psa never get into conversations with female housemates about what constitutes yeast and all it’s variations
again because I live with 3 other people who are also fans of bread and butter this is all doubled from the original (:
ingredients:
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 3.4 tsp. baking soda … whatever that is doubled
- salt
- 2 cups butter milk…
- OK so to make butter milk if unavailable because who actually has butter milk… steal about 1.4 cup or less of vinegar from housemate and add to desired milk amount and let sit for 5ish minutes or until it looks like you wouldn’t want to drink it anymore 🙂
- about 1.4 cup melted butter (we’re eyeballing what 6 table spoons would look like so work with me)
- can make approximately 2 small loaves with this
- cut an ‘x’ onto the middle of the loaf before cooking
- bake at 375 for about 40ish minutes or until outside is brown
